OK, y'all, I am 38 years late on this, I just saw the movie "On Any Sunday", got it on Netflix. On Any Sunday (OAS) came out in 71'; I was about 13 at the time. My bike back then was a Schwinn Stingray, with a banana seat. Anyway, I really liked the movie and I have a few comments. First, the movie felt like a long commercial to promote MC riding, but in a good way. Second, the movie came out after the British Invasion in music, but not prior to Nippon's motorcycles being on the scene. Most of the bikes in OAS were either American (Harley) or Brit (BSA, Triumph). I think I saw one Suzuki. Also, it was a riot to see BSA's, Triumph's and Harley's being used as dirt bikes. Lastly, times have changed since 71'. In OAS they feature two "professional" riders who basically were a one-man show. They modified and maintained their bikes, they drove half way across the county to race, then got into the race shortly after a 24-hour drive, one lived out of a Dodge van. I had to giggle. Today professional riders have rock star status, a legion of mechanics and state of the art everything. You want a good laugh; note the "safety equipment" that they talk about in OAS. A football helmet, and a tee shirt was all the safety equipment that they needed in the 70's to go 110 MPH. If you have not seen OAS, great film IMHO, don't wait 38 years to see it like I did. To the guy who asked what DFW stands for DFW is the airport designation for a city in the country of Tejas. Tejas borders the southern part of the US, just below Oklahoma, and west of Louisiana. I live in Louisiana, we have a border with Tejas. I tried to visit Tejas once but I did not have my passport to exit the US and enter Tejas, Republic of. The native language is Spanish, and no less than two former US Presidents have been exiled to Tejas. One of the former Presidents is currently the Village Idiot in DFW. You might recall from grammar school history that Mexico fought a battle at the Alamo Rent a Car to see Tejas could remain a part of Mexico. Mexico won, and they did not have to let Tejas remain a part of Mexico. I am told that if you visit Tejas, do not drink the water . Well, I hope that clears it up for you.
