klr650 : re-jetting results

Post by Luc Legrain » Sat Jun 20, 2009 9:51 am

All, Put everything back together WITH NO LEFT OVER PARTS ,started the bike, crank, crank, until bowl filled up,good start, good idle, since I've installed the ThermoBob I know when the engine is warmed up,reved up the thumper, 2000 holding steady, 3-4-5000 RPM still holding steady, let's do a quick RED LINE ( I really do not like to do that with no load ), I was at 5000rpm and holding steady, flicked the wrist, wide open throttle, 5500-6000rpm thumper quits rpm dropped to 5000 then surges back to 6000,quits,drops to 5000,surges again to 6000 ,just like a bellow--> inflate-->deflate-->inflate-->deflate. The Thumper did not do that before,so what is it ? Fix ? Thanks ( By the way, that darn mutt of mine does not bite me any longer,he just pees on my shoes with disdain !! )

Ah, one other big difference, Progressive has roadside assistance: http://motorcycle.progressive.com/motorcycle-insurance-coverages-roadside.aspx This looks like a pretty good benefit. What do you all think? Still, Progressive comes out at about $200 more for me (3 bikes), but has this nice roadside assistance and the vanishing deductible, which makes my deductible about $100 for collision/comp. Advice? -Barron
