Great feed back .Thanks. I already have the iridium plug installed . I am more tempted to go with the larger jet and go down if I have to,we'll see how the thumper reacts. As far as Federal Lands none within 7-800 miles radius (monkey butt), plenty of gravel , dirt back roads,jeep trails, even skunk trails...

I would start with the 148 main jet and the clip in the number 3 notch. Always use the Thick Brass Spacer on top of the C clip. A .030 #4 SS washer will allow you to make half notch adjsutments. You might as well install the NGK Iridium spark plug since it is the best spark plug available for the KLR. Read the spark plug and tail pipe as you make adjustments between long rides. If you continue to run lean and are unable to find a good adjustment then you might want to tape over the holes in the airbox mod.
