The DR650 uses a gear driven counterbalencer so no chain to tension and no doohickey or spring to have issues with. Go to the parts diagrams at BikeBandit or Ron Ayers to see the differences.

I find the brake pedal on my KLR is too small and dosn't stick out far enough. Mabe I ride a little pigon toed, but I sometimes miss the pedal when I need to make a quick stop. Does anyone know of an extender for the pedal? Would it be OK to put the lever in a vice and bend it so the pedal will stick farther out, or do I risk breaking the lever. You can heat the lever on a turkey fryer burner and bend it quite easily. However, I would weld an extension on the toe-piece instead. Mark
