I yanked the California smog stuff off of my bike, and also the turn signal relay along with the kick-stand and clutch kill switches. Anyone interested in this stuff? I can't see why, but it's not doing any good in my garage. I'm in Denver, CO and the stuff is off of a 2001 KLR 650.

Wow, a WD40 thread too! Yup, many have logged lifetimes worth of chainlife miles -15k or more with only using WD40. It is solvent like (mineral spirits) along with a light type of oil (can't recall name KRO-oil ??? something like that). Water diplacing (WD) Thus is does leave a nice light film of oil, and the solvent effects do a good job of cleaning. For me it is just part of the regimen, but it does do a good job. I am with you, the best way to use it is to clean after a ride (chain is warm) sucks into nooks and crannies as chain cools, and solvent evaporates off. Ready to go for next ride. I also like Gunk (the O ring type) and JB bros, Amsoil and Maxima cahin lubes- use in between WD 40 cleanings, but WD40 by itself will work pretty well too. todd Chaska MN

Anybody know if the kickstand on an 01 is the same as an 08? I do want a stand that will fit my 08
