front chain slider - stock or aftermarket?

Do yourself a favor. If you haven't done the grease zerk mod, take the swingarm off and grease the needle bearings. Then add the slider.
I do like the looks of the colored parts, and the enclosed bottom guide.

Looks like a preemptive strike is in order to replace the front chain
slider - before I find aluminum dust in the neighborhood

)
Any recomendations on the polyureathane one over the stock. I *really don't*
want to pull the swing arm to do the stock one. The other seems to not
require it.
see
http://www.hotfootm oto.com/Site_ 2/Kawasaki_ Sliders.html for one example
I am looking at.
Thx all,

I will definetly go look. I wasn't confused. I just wanted to make sure i didn't have to change jetting.
As far as JD and small equipment, I am familar with everything from the Waterloo Boy to the model's, A, B, D, R, 50, 60, 80, 430, 520, up to the 2010, 4020 etc. You are talkin to a farm boy. Right smack in the middle of corn country Illinois. I even have a small collection of antique tractors. 1948 B.F. Avery model A, 1951 David Bradley garden tractor, 1948 maytag washing machine motor, and 1955 Allis Chalmers WD45 (actually I recently sold that one)
I don't know much about the new stuff though. I like the stuff made before the 60's.
New stuff is to complicated for me. Maybe that's why i like the KLR so much

Actually, I have never been there. I have never been much of a racing fan. I love to ride bikes, but don't get much out of watching others do it.
I have been to a few tractor pulls though :- )

There is also a motocross track very close to my area. I just can't rememeber the name of the track. I have flagged for them several times some years ago. Being on the track does add a certain flare to it.

Sorry, Your asking the wrong guy. I live out in the sticks, but I am not a farmer.
I worked around farms all my childhood, so I like old machinery. Kind of a nostalgic
thing for me

You might want to shim the needle a bit....which is less radical than
changing jets. That s what I did after doing the kill Tweety mod. I did the
elegant machine shop version. Yet another alternative to throwing money in
the direction of SuperCrap/SupperTripe or Big Guano.
