my muffler story

Post by Michael Hagen » Fri Apr 03, 2009 12:08 pm

Did that a few years ago.... Spent about $150 on eBay for one- Super Trapp. Spent a day wire brushing and painting it. Installed it, and went for a ride up here in the mountains where I live. Every time I cranked the gas, I felt bad for my poor neighbors! I rode for about a half hour. I had (I think, 5 disks on it for quiet). Was not really "Harley Loud", but I also missed the stock sound? It was messing my rear fender up too. Didn't look that cool anymore. Next day I put the stock back on - touching up the paint. Got about $90 back on eBay re-selling it, after painting it again with BBQ paint. I talked my self into the whole thing, I deserved it. Mikey - Hoping "Hoping" would Work up here in Crestline, Ca. sputtering

Post by Craig Kahler » Sat Apr 04, 2009 10:54 pm

My 2007 idles fine and runs at 75mph ok, but inbetween at 40 - 60mph it sputters and backfires and there is little responce from the throttle untill it is almost wide open, then engine power kicks in. This just started happening recently. Tomorrow I plan to remove and open up the carb. Any suggestions what I should look for when I'm in there?
