Never had a problem with one here, where it's supposedly not legal. Never had a problem in Mexico, where they don't seem to care if you have a license plate, horn, signals or lights. South of that, I wouldn't know. I have never heard or read of anybody having trouble of any kind on account of the IMS tank, except Peter Egan, who split the one on his DRZ in Baja.
