I believe it goes straight down, pretty much. It's a vent line and it ends near the shock linkage with the cluster of other hoses...

My bike has California emissions. and that tube has a hose connected to it and the hose runs back to my evap can on the left side of the bike. Here is a link from a guy that removed his emissions. Theres a good diagram in his article.

So is it just a spill hose of some sort? I have never seen any signs of escaped fluid under the seat. It also seems strange that anything, attached to a gas tank, is vented to the atmosphere. Is the EPA aware of this !! ;- )

Rick,
The hose connected to that tube just goes to the ground. There is
probably a wire guide on the right front side of the swing arm to collect
a couple of different hoses.

That is exactly what I am talking about, except that mine is Non - Californy.
So I just need a hose that runs down the frame to the little rubber collector that all the other
hoses go to for ground exiting
