Im never sure whether or not to put NKLR in my subjects, since there is usually SOME relevance to my KLR, but anyways... Has anyone ever heard of the DURO HF-904? I cant find anything on the net about them, but i picked up a set of them since my stock dunlops are bald at 5500 miles. My first time ever changing tires (by myself, even!) with the stock tools and a milkcrate. It only took me 2hrs 20 minutes total for both. Im impressed with myself. BUT what the hell was big K thinking by making the FRONT nuts / axle different sizes from the REAR, and not including tools to remove them?? DuH. I had to track down my crescent wrench, since i dont have my full scope of tools down here in MS. I found one set of trails in the woods here that people ride, and ran into a few dirtbikers and ATVers there. They are about 5 miles+ of "doubletrack" trails-- really nice, but definately NOT colorado! I cant believe the looks i get on my KLR here in Biloxi! Everyone i talk to(especially classmates and instructors) thinks i am absolutely insane for riding a DIRTBIKE 1500 miles to here. I really dont see what the problem is, besides the lack of stereo (walkman?) and luggage racks/saddlebags. I picked up a REALLY nice set of leathers on Ebay and am waiting on their arrival. Keprotec is what the label says, and there are some really good feedbacks. Auction number is 595712536. They are 2pc, and half-ass match the '01 KLR. They seem pretty heavy duty and include armor and pads. Cant wait to try them out. Especially on the ride through the tip of New Mexico and up the range in Mid- October. Ive been looking for something for a long while. Also I have done some good fishin since i got here. Caught 4 nice sized white trout out of the gulf on a pier. Cooked 'em up real nice in the oven. Next is battered/fried and hopefully some RedFish. Fishin pole (in-half) fits real nice along the handlebars and bunjeed to rally-pro's. Talk to everybody later.
