i finaly finished the vista cruise on the 08

My 06'red KLR was lookin bad. So I did what any manic depressive would do. melt it with laquer thinner and scrub it with no. 0000 steel wool. I wiped it immediately with a laquer thinner soaked rag and then a dry rag to buff it out. Repeating this several times got me down to good plastic and a few problemed scuff areas. This was fixed with an acetelnyne torch moved rapidly over the surface. Just enough to bring out the shine. Crazy? YES. but the bike looks like new. I'll be watching this post if you have questions. P.P.S. The bike was an unbearable pink. It was worth the risk and man did it payoff. I couldn't be happier with the results. Metalmanic.

I'm not familiar with the universal model but have installed 6-8 of the dual cable models on pre 08 KLRs. A buddy installed a dual cable model on his 08 KLR and used safety wire to help hold it in place.
