i finaly finished the vista cruise on the 08
It took me half the damm winter but I finaly finished the Vista Cruise.
I think I found a decent way to mount it but I need to put down some
miles to see how it holds up. I even had a machine shop quote a batch
of the screws already and I may check how much it is to get some of the
throttle tubes set up without the rim that had to be removed. Basicaly
I will put together some 08/09 KLR650 Vista Cruise adapter kits if it
works. This is in case someone else out there has screwed up their
wrists snowboarding too.
I documented how I did it at the page below. Please let me know what
you think of the means of locking it's rotation.

Chris, I wish you would post some pictures of your installation. I have already taken a dremmel tool and remove the rim, but stopped there. This is a simple but effective alternative, the "Big O ring:

For anyone contemplating a "Vista Cruise": go with the "Universal".
You can probably install it in a 1/2 hour IF you don't have to remove
'Barkbusters'.

Just take the normal type and use household Goop to glue it on. Mine worked for 35,000 miles before I had to pull it off for some maintenance. Glues right back on. Never failed me. Works on pretty much any bike, although you may have to either build up a mound of glue in a couple of applications or glue a spacer on for some bikes.

I guess this thing just goes through one's email address book and
sends an invitation to everybody or group on your address list.
Sorry.

The Universal Vista Cruise takes up about 3 or 4 times as much room on the
grip as the standard Vista Cruise.
With "barkbusters" you would need a very small hand to fit on what's left of
the grip.
