I have been having an headlight issue with melting plugs that I may
may have solved yesterday with one of my electronic Guru's. He
claimed the switch on the handlebar was defective leaving both high
beam and low beam on at the same time hence melting the plug. We put
an old switch he had on it but didn't have a new plug so he just
soldered new connecters on the wires and put heat shrink rubber
around those minus a new plug. It works but what is the purpose for a
plug? Is it water will get in during rain? Do I need the plug?
Also, we tried to install the Tammy Totally Wired headlight relay kit
I have had for a while but couldn't get it to work (so I could run a
hotter bulb). Curtis decided the kit was defective. 2 other
electronic gurus had the same results trying to get it to work. All
these guys make their living with electricity or electronics so I
guess the kit was defective. I have heard Tammy has health problems
so may have contracted the work out to someone else who may have not
done it correctly. I already have her blade fuse kit, sidestand kit
and fan kit which all work correctly.
Curtis has a nifty after-market handlebar switch he got but can't
remember who hr bought it from? Anybody know? Fred?

bikeweek?
Anybody going to Bikeweek? I have been down twice just for the races
but my niece and her husband want me go to the party with them so
guess can't turn that blue eyed blond down but plan to go and watch
the 200 and the 600 race plus like to see the short track race. I
understand they also have a half mile flack track that I have missed
in the past. Anybody have details on the race schedule? My brother-
in-law in Jacksonville claims the races are next week but hat isn't
correct is it?

<><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><> Ron, The plug just holds the wires in the correct orientation for the bulb and makes it easier to connect and disconnect. No worries eliminating it until you have to mess with it in the dark and rain. Then the plug will be pretty nice. : ) If you want to replace the plug I'll suggest you consider a NAPA LS6235 Headlight socket. It has very good reviews for reliability with higher output bulbs.
