ims footpeg installation

If you modify the exhaust to a more open flow muffler do you go to a larger or smaller size main jet? I have an 08 that has a modified OEM exhaust that if more open, I went from the stock 145 to a 148 main jet, Did I go the right direction? Mike H. On mine, the U-shaped end hooks over the top of the footpeg bracket.
