This works BUT be careful... 
 
 Only way I could inflate a handtruck (dolly) tire once, just could not
 get enough airflow and keep that bead on the rim, was either WD-40 or
 starting fluid I used and it hopped off the floor pretty quick.
 
 Dooden ( keep all fingers, toes and eyes that day )

That was ether I believe.  They sell it as starting fluid for hard to start engines that you want to burn the valves out of.  I hear diesels will start on WD-40 though.

I've heard that's a fairly common way to seat the bead on ATV tires --

Er ............. strippers are tough and used to .... seating beads  
 and fooling a round with rubber stuff.

I don't think I have seen a loss in mpg with my 685 kit. If I have, I'm sure it's due to heavy handed throttle control. It's a good mod, I reckon.
