<><><><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><><><> David, Don't breath the fumes from the flux core wire. As in treat it like the poison it is. Also using flux core wire you might find it handy to spray the area around where you'll be welding with anti-splatter stuff so the splatter won't stick to stuff you'd rather keep clean. I'd probably also shield the area with a few layers of aluminum foil. Kind of a belt and suspenders approach. And just as a reminder although you probably know... disconnect the battery before you start welding.
