03 changing the valve seals, question on valve spring compressor too

I everyone. I just installed the Jardine R/T 5 from KLR.com. I love the way the pipe looks. It's way too loud. The have a quiet module which I be buying if I keep it. Installation was a snap. But... There's always a but. The pibe hits the fender slightly. I would like to keep the pipe. But I don't want to cut the fender. any thoughts. If I end up cutting , What's the best method. Demmel. Hot knife? any thoughts. I'm not too coaught up on cosmetics. But I don't want a bunch of freyed plastic either. I also thought of just leaving it. It's not touching much, just the corner of the back of the muffler.. Will this get hot enought to melt the plastic? I need some help here guys. Thanks, Rod

There are a lot of things you could do to trim the fender, including letting the heat of the muffler give you just the right shape. But how about a spacer on the mounting bolt to move the muffler away from the fender?

A Dremel with a 1/2" coarse sanding drum/band works great on plastic. Just keep the speed and pressure below where the plastic melts. Dremel/rotary tools have made jobs easier for me countless times. Alan
