Yep, here in Jax, Fl. It's the best time to ride. This past summer was the first summer I mostly drove the truck. To dang hot at my 40yrs to wear all the gear while stuck in traffic. Aw man, you're not 18 anymore, not that it matters, but you got's to, at the least, have liability insurance. Riding without insurance is foolish economy. We want you to be able to buy more bikes in the future............................................................... Alan

Whatever you do, don't move out here to the SF Bay area. The weather is boring and uninteresting, it rarely goes above 85F in the summers and rarely falls below 40F in the winter. It's just a boring place to be a motorcyclist because you can always walk out the door, jump on your motorcycle, and ride off. What's the fun in that? Motorcycling is supposed to be a *challenge*! _E

Those of us in the "frozen tundra" deserve some sort of gold star for riding in the forbidden months. While it is really great to be able to get on the bike any time it takes something really special to fire the pig up at 20F and take a spin. Its truly unique to ride in cold brisk air. Everything looks different and sounds different. All the riders you see wave back because they are "real"riders, not "lifestyle riders" on their big noisemakers. You know who they are. While ice and snow present their limitations, it only adds to the determination to ride. Personally I've ridden in 20F weather, but no colder than that. I shun heated devices, but I've read they are quite rewarding. So you guys in sunny climates, or not so sunny but warm climates can enjoy the pleasure of riding anytime, you miss out on testing your "mettle" on a cold winter morning. Whatever you do, and wherever you live, ride often, and ride safe.

Even here on the coast of sunny SoCal where we can ride every day (save for the occasional deluge), I leave the house with ice on the bird bath and dog dish and the thermometer in the high 20's several times each winter. Bracing for sure, but too dark to really enjoy anything about the experience. The worst riding weather we get here is thick fog.
