2008 vs. 1991 models

Howdy, I had a chance to go head to head on a flat stretch with a 2008 KLR and my old 1991 could just crawl away from him. There are so many factors, though. Tires were different. That big fairing must push some air. I'm about 50 pounds heavier. He had more luggage. I like the newer bikes due to their brakes, suspension, wind protection (for the highway) and that headlight. They are more designed for the street. Jim A5
