Wish I had just a little more warning, wow you leave in the AM... 1) The short ride down to Willow Beach (just east of Hoover Dam) will only take a few minutes, but is a blast on the KLR. Curvy and steep, and paved. 2) You can ride all the way to the bottom of the Grand Canyon out of Peach Springs, AZ on BIA 6 (Diamond Creek Road) - just get a permit at the Hualapai Lodge for ~$15 before proceeding. Worth every dollar and minute of the ride. 3) The ride to Tuweep from the Kanab and Colorado City area is a nice ride, but the way over Mt. Trumbull to St. George is spectacular. It's 90 miles instead of 60, but was a favorite of ours when we visited in May. Watch out for the silt traps near Tuweep, they can catch you by surprise. There is more, but not enough time to go into details. Hope you have a good trip. Bill Watson Phoenix, AZ www.xanga.com/watt_man [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
