i rode the f800gs yesterday

The local BMW place has 2 F800GS bikes. I went and rode their demo
bike yesterday.
It weighs only a little bit more that the KLR, same riding position,
has tons more power at all RPMs. Awesome suspension, great brakes.
I think it is *the* adventure tourer.
Oh, and its about $13K.

Yeah but did you drop test it?

A courtesy warning: Keep your head low...the KLR milista is defiantly
firing verbal bullets at anything/one not discussing or otherwise
teaching them something extremely useful about their KLR. We're not
quite sure if it's teething or the [election] rutting season.
[sigh]...the price we pay for such a well-honed brain trust.

You mean the de-tuned F800GS with a wimpy suspension?
