Received word today that my aunt's preacher (Batesville, AR) hit a deer on his bike. Then a car came along and ran over him. He was 61. I guess we need to keep in mind that hitting a deer may not be the worst thing that can happen. Lying in the road and getting hit by people who drive to fast or who do not pay attention can become the worst case scenario. rw [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Wow. I have thought about this personally when riding my bike. So you lay the bike over for whatever reason. Sometimes not a big deal. But then you realize that you had better get to your feet and get the heck off the road pronto before a cager plows over you. I particularly think of this on the highway when traffic is heavy but moving quickly. Don+

Good point. And good to consider how visible *you* are (not you and the bike), too.
