klr650: bent handle bar

dumped the bike in town on an oil slick at about 25-30 mph. The left side of the bar (clutch side)is slightly bent from the weld of the cross bar to the end of the grip. Anyways to straighten it out ?

A length of pipe and a stationary object (like a building) has always worked for me. Or, you
could take this opportunity to replace them with a set of alloy bars that will not bend so
easily.

Luc,
I replaced my stock bars with Renthal 666 High Desert bars when I bent my
stock bars in a similar manner. Once they've bent and then been
straightened I think they'll bend in the same place and even easier next
time.
I suppose a guy could put a cheater bar over the end of the bar and pull
it straight(er).

They do bend back amazingly easily with a length of pipe. I think it
really helps to have another person both to help steady everything and
to get a second opinion on what "straight" is. It does take a bit of
finagling usually to make the bars feel right again. The clutch side is
easier because you can do it with the grip on and test the feel. If it
is the throttle side, you have to worry about the throttle tube and are
better off taking both grips off so you can tell when the bars are
straight.

Maybe you can convince the manufacturer to make a taller version
that would stick out in the normal position but can be lowered in
the triple trees ala Eldon to effectively lengthen the forks.

Are those Renthal bars different from the stock bar ?
