Sorry for the elementery question. I just put progressive springs in my 2002 KLR. I weigh 275# and am going touring soon. I also commute 30 miles each way.
What fork oil would you recommend?
Thanks.

10W (Bel-Ray or equiv) should work fine with the new Progs to give
you a plush ride. however 15W is probably a better match for your
weight--especially if more aggressive/off-road. seeing you just
changed to Progs, i'd stick with one change at a time in order
to 'understand' each change.

David,
If I were you I'd go with a minimum of 15W fork oil, maybe even a 20W. I like Bel Ray, I just changed mine a couple of days ago myself, bought it at Cycle Gear.
The stock oil is some sort of multi grade, 20/10W I think. Looked and smelled just like ATF to me.

watt-man wheelie-ing!!

While riding a couple weeks ago, I came upon a group of riders,
one who had an '08. It was his first KLR, he said. Had a
Supertrapp muffler on it, and it was too loud for my tastes.
They rode off before I did, and he wheelied down the road.
He made it look pretty effortless, and I couldn't tell if he
feathered the clutch or pulled back on the bars, but he was
on one wheel for some time.
I can wheelie my 04 and 06, but not without doing something
to assist (pull back on the bars, dump clutch, etc)
