Paul,
K270s are NOT directional (in fact, when your front starts to show signs of 'cupping' remove
it and re-install reversed). My PRESENT front K270 has over 18,000 kms (11,000 miles) on it,
and has at least another 3,000 in it. The rear I changed out at 18,000 kms and it still had
about 1/8" tread on the center knobs. I RUN 36 PSI FRONT AND REAR!
Your handling difficulties are because the tread is NOT seated - air it down, unseat the tire,
wet it thoroughly along the bead, then air it up. It should seat properly by 40 psi. If not,
deflate it and do it again till it does seat. Your experience shows why you should start doing
your own tire changes and balancing.
I've run 270s since the OEM Dunlops wore out. At 36 psi they handle well, but the rear will
howl once the central part flattens out, but I use ear-plugs, so no biggie!
Cheers,
Ed
