[spam][dsn_klr650] surge or coughing

I ve heard of people solving the problem by removing the fuel filter.
But......Monte, my bike exhibited similar symptoms a few years ago. I tried
a variety of solutions-petcock, carb on and on to no avail. The missing
caused me to cancel a trip to Mexico. It only happened on clear hot days
after 30 miles or so of riding on pavement-never on dirt or gravel, I live
at 6000 feet and the sun is very strong. I can t prove it but what I think
cured the problem was installing the T vent mod ( in my case a Y ) into the
tube venting the carburetor. The vent tube travels close to the pavement.
The super hot pavement somehow kept the carb from breathing steadily. When I
ran the extra tube under the seat it never happened again.
