I have two versions of the bead buddy, and carry the trail model with my tire tools. I have not had to use it yet; just seeing it reminds me to push the bead down in the rim. I carry a stem snake for the same reason, except last month I ran into an ornery tube and actually had to use it. One of the great things about karmic prophylaxis is that if it fails, you can still fix the bike.
