relocating the klr air filter

Post by Andrew » Thu Aug 14, 2008 11:56 pm

I see what you are saying. This was originally Cali. bike but all that was promptly removed as soon as I got it home to Idaho. I tried an experiment tonight and thought I would put a paper towel over that inlet, in the top rear left side of the air box. That inlet does not have a screen over it of any kind. The towel was enought to choke the air flow off to the carb that it wouldn't run. So, I took a 3/8 drill bit and punched a bunch of holes just along and parallel to the seam on the left and along the shoulder of the air filter access panel. When I covered those new holes up with my hand, I could FEEL the air sucking in. -Andy
