nklr timing marks-counterbalancer

Post by n1rzc » Sun Jul 27, 2008 6:48 pm

After the rebuild from the failed doo, I thought I was done. Turns out that not only did the timing chain jump, but the balancer chain jumped on the crankshaft 1 tooth. Too bad it took watching the bike jump across the ManCave floor to realize, "Houston, we have a problem". I'm amazed this think could jump with the way the guides hug the crank. Anyway, it took a while to find how to line these things up. I guess, had I stared at it a little longer, I'd have figured it out. I did find this post from Mike. I thought I'd do my part and return the favor to all you who helped me rebuild a bike I've never owned, much less have a shop manual for. I've posted a pic of the chain and alignment marks at: http://autos.ph.groups.yahoo.com/group/DSN_KLR650/photos/view/8898?b=6&m=f&o=0 Thanks again, mission accomplished. E
