I have never heard of or seen any porous oil filter covers. Has anyone? Thanks CA Stu

I think mine was mis-shappened and three new O-rings never stopped the small leak until I used a new cover and used the existing O- ring. Maybe the porous cover that has been mentioned is a bad casting with a gap / channel that couldn't be machined out. I could see that happening on a few % per production run.
