It's too bad that I had to straighten them to get enough tension off
the spring to tap the retainers out. Look at the head pic with them
still installed.
I was surprised by how malleable the things were. They bent back with
some pretty light blows.

pre 08 front brake reservoir cover bolts
Listers,
Just thought I'd send a reminder to folks that if they haven't changed
their brake fluid yet this year now might be a good time. I changed mine
an hour ago and found the bolts on the front brake reservoir cover pretty
darn tight. I know I used anti-seize last time I changed the fluid. I
had a heck of a time getting one cover bolt out and buggered the head
removing it.
Replacement info for those that might find it handy is:
flat head bolt.
4mm diameter
0.70 pitch
10mm long
I got replacements at an ACE hardware and got the ones that use an allen
wrench instead of a phillips screwdriver. I again used anti-seize during
the installation.
