The seat pad I use was from Walmart and fit's the KLR like it's made by Kawasaki! It's black and shaped like a shitter lid, overlaps each side of the seat about 2", and was only like $17.00 if I recall, has a mesh cover over rubber formed stuff on the inside, works great and would never go on a long ride w/o it!
