I spent most of yesterday mounting a set of $20 Pilot driving lights I got from Autozone. They are 55W, came with a lighted on/off switch and all the wiring. I mounted them under the front turn signals and have them angled slightly down for driving, but they are fairly adjustable with the mounting brackets I manufactured. So far I am happy with them, and they were a heck of a lot less then the 300+ HID sets that I found online. Moose ----- Original Message ---- From: David C. I'm using cheap fog lights (perform great) that I mounted at the points that secure the fairing to the headlight/fairing tree, above the turn signals. I used the brown wire under the seat for my key-activated circuit to the relay. Mark

I haven't gone with auxillary lights (yet), but I am using HIDs for my primary lights on my '08. So far I'm digging it, but I may go back to a standard bulb for the high-beams... the 10 second warm-up time for HIDs means there's not much point in "flashing" anyone. I'm still waffling on that though. Prior years only have a single bulb, so it won't be an issue for them... a HID primary would work fine if you can kind the space to mount the ballast and igniter. Not sure what I'm going to do with the aux lights yet... might go with something a bit more high-dollar than the Hella's and Wal-Marts I'm running on the FJR... need more light, less power consumption. Aerostich sell an offroad spotlight that is no bigger than any other spotlight but instead of normal filament it is HID with the ballast & other HID annoyances built into the back of the housing so it appears to be like any other spotlight but is actually HID performance.Reasonably priced (for what you are getting) at about 150.00/ea. depending on which light you choose. Carefully inspect the male and female plugs for the headlamp for deterioration, and corrosion on the metal connectors. I had much the same problem, inspected the headlamp plug, it crumbled away in my hand. $4USD replacement at PepBoys has been going strong for over 4 years. Glenn San Jose, CA
