Although I have no first hand experience with it, I have heard from more
than one person that Super Glue Plasti-Fuse, item #15104.
One of them repaired a lawn mower gas tank and says that it worked well,
saved him the $120 cost of a new one.

Virtually all of the plastics on the pre-2008 KLRs is polypropylene. The
colored parts definitely are: fenders, radiator shrouds, side covers.
I'm not sure about the 2008s simply because I haven't gotten my hands on
one yet.
Good luck and I would like to hear from anyone, success or fail, who
might try it.
