I'm sure that few care. But.... I will soon no longer be able to state that
I'm the only one that has attended every klr/dualsport rally in Moab. I just
cancelled my reservation at the Lazy Lizard Hostel. I will have to miss this
year's get together. For a long time Jake Jakeman and I shared bragging
rights but as many know he didn't attend the rally two (?) years ago and
died soon after. I hope that won't be my fate. There were only about 8 of us
at the first one that Gino Pakluda organized. I think it was 1997. I'll be
thinking of you guys.

Bingo, Eric! Steve, sorry I didn't see your original post, but I struggled with the same problem with the same tires and it turned out that I did not have enough preload at the front. I cut some slightly longer spacers from schedule 40 PVC to get the correct amount of static and race sag and it cured the problem. I should have double-checked the sag after I had some front fork work done by a local shop, but I didn't. Then I went on a trip and had the bike suddenly go into a vicious tankslapper at about 35 MPH on a dirt road. It launched me pretty well, and I broke five ribs and a collarbone when I landed. After I healed up I made double-damn sure to sort out the suspension.
