My first problem with my 2004 klr.
I've disassembled and cleaned the carb.
Checked hoses.
Put new gas in it.
Looked at petcock filter.
Changed to new plug
Adjusted my doohicky.
It takes full throttle and 70mph great until I let off the throttle
and just maintain my speed. Then it misses and jerks. Full throttle
closures present no problems until I get to stop signs then I have to
rev it to get it to stay running, then taking off is a jerky and
scary affair. I ran it 90 miles yesterday to see if it would heal
itself. No luck.
I still have to try: adjusting the jet down from my 2 turns and
adjusting the choke,
I'm guessing that it is running too rich and that's why it will take
full throttle well but nothing else.
Any other ideas? One reason I'm in a mild panic is that it goes out
of warantee the 17th of May. If it's anything serious, I have to get
to the dealer.
thanks.

<><><><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><><><> Don, Why did you take the carb apart? That's where I'd be looking. If you screwed it up the warranty shouldn't be expected to cover any repairs. If it was from leaving fuel in the carb over the winter the warranty shouldn't be expected to cover the repair. Other than that I'd suggest letting the dealer have it and cover it under warranty. That's what you paid for. <><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><> Mike, What do you do when you have to arrest someone? Knowing you they get leashed to the rear rack and told to keep up. : ) On the KLR650 dot net site there is a thread going on about KLRs for LE use. I'm not the only airhead on this site. Looking forward to seeing you in July. Best, Jeff Hi Mike, Yep, you will find several Airheads here. Welcome! Watch out following Saline on those Black Hills trails!!
