of work goes into them to get them ready. After several "ammo box" or related internet searches I tried "dry box" in the search & found MTM brand dry cases. They are similar to Ammo boxes but are plastic. I would like to know if anybody has used these boxes & if so do they work good? P.S. very affordable. I don't think the ones I use are MTM, but they're almost identical to the "ammo can" they have listed on the bottom of this page: http://www.mtmcase-gard.com/products/rifle/rifl.html I got them from our local Ranger Surplus for about $15 I think. I haven't looked at using them on the K yet, but they have held up everything the Jeep has been able to throw at them (including getting submerged - long story). I'll see if I can get the brand off them when I get home tonight. --Jonathan "smthng" Kalmes Springfield, VA 2005 Yamaha FJR1300ABS - "Blue Bayou" 2006 Jeep Unlimited Rubicon - "Teflon" 2008 Kawasaki KLR 650 - It's here, but it hasn't earned a name yet. ;) http://smthng.info "Look, the truth is, I've been trying to save the world, one person at a time, but, I'm meant for smthng bigger. russell seat [was: concours regrets?]

Post by Chris Norloff » Mon May 05, 2008 2:50 pm

I bought a Russell seat for my KLR. It's awfully spendy, but it works fantastic. I can ride all day and not be hurting. It gets a little warm, especially when I wear my Aerostich, so I put a beaded cover on it in the warm weather. It doesn't get in the way when standing, and offers different riding positions (moving forward and aft). It's ugly, but it gets you there. It is one hell of a seat no matter what you install it on but I bet if I had one on my KLR, my KLR would see far more LD miles than it is currently getting Jake Reddick Fla.
