Sorry Mike, I can't help you on that one. The only riding I've done down there is down hwy-25 to the Pinnacles National Monument (great hiking) and onto 198 through Coalinga to I-5 and back home. If you like rides like that, try hwy-130, Mt. Hamilton Rd., out of San Jose. There are lots of tight twisties to get to the Lick Observatory. (Stop and tour the telescope!) Just past the observatory there is a road that takes you toward Lake Del Valle and the back way into Livermore. A very nice ride, but be sure to check a map before you take off. You may want to tour the wineries around Livermore, too.

How about well south of the Bay area, and west of I-5?
Say, anything from Hollister south, all the way to Paso Robles...?
That's a big patch of California!
