changing rear rim from 17" to 18"

You just pretty much get your same spokes that you have now, only a half inch longer for your new rear 18. For the type 2 Interco you'll have to add a bit to the chain. Also you'll want to grind some of the bracing out of the swingarm. A 13 tooth sprocket will buy you enough room to have some chain adjust left. What you have to remember is this ain't no ordinary 18 inch tire, the knobs are very tall! A half inch clearance isn't enough either, this tire grows more than that at 70mph! http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y299/zrod/Picture249.jpg This tire is an eight ply monster as is it's little brother the type 1 Teraflex. Sorta feels like no air is too much air! ;) I got over 4 thousand miles out of my Interco tires on the Hoss KLR, type 1 18 on the front and the type 2 18 on the rear. http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y299/zrod/Picture256.jpg I won't be repeating this tire combination though, the big 150-90 is so tall, my handling suffered from the change in rake. And for any of you interested in my big front wheel, the type 1 is an example of a rear tire that doesn't make a very good front tire! ;) All things considered, it was fun but just not worth the trouble. Good luck in your quest for the ultimate tire! Rod --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, Richard Bessey wrote:

2008 turn signals break to easily!!!

Post by Scott St. Hillier » Wed Apr 23, 2008 8:07 am

I have an '08 KLR650 and I love it... I have had 3 turn signals break! There is this cheap rubber boot that hold the lens assembly to the metal base which allows you to mount it to the bike. The rubber boot is insufficient in strength. These turn signals are $78.00 a pop to replace. Has anyone found a replacement turn signal that can be mounted to the existing mounts on the bike? Thanks --
