All,
Has anyone ever changed there rear rim to a different size?
The reason I ask is because I keep looking at these tires:
http://www.intercotire.com/site53.php
(The one on the right) Its a TeraFlex tire and I was riding with someone
that had this tire mounted on his DRZ. What an awesome off road tire.
The rider described it as a tractor tire, excellent hookup and really
made some tracks. Anyway, they only make that tire for 18 and 19 inch rims.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as far as whats required to
swap out the rim from a 17" to an 18" so I can mount this tire?
Regards,
Richard Bessey

150x18 is a couple of sizes larger than the 5.10x17 or 130/80x17 that are typically fitted to
the KLR. Some knobbies in stock sizes give clearance problems. I wonder if the big
TerrorFlex will even fit. Something to check before going to the trouble and expense of a rim
swap.

Everyone is welcome to attend, even if you don't have work to do on your
bike show up just to meet other dual sport riders. Starts at 10 AM. Send
an email or PM for my address and/or directions. I've had about 20 KLR's
in my driveway the last two years.
