klr pre ride checklist

Post by eddiebmauri » Thu Apr 17, 2008 2:41 pm

Folks, I am trying to put together a Pre Ride checklist to review before riding. Here is what I have so far, please add anything that you think is of importance: Pre Ride Checklist: 1. Check tires for correct pressure. Front ____ Rear ____ 2. Spin-check and inspect tires and tire side walls for cuts, nails, bulges, condition, etc. 3. Check valve stems to make sure they are in correct position (not shifted) 4. Check engine oil level before starting engine. 5. Check radiator for fluid level. 6. Check the brake fluid resivour. 7. Check mirrors. 8. Check chain and lube if needed. 9. Check (eyeball) the cotter pins on the front and rear axles. 10. Check the fuel petcock for "On" 11. Check headlight, tail, and blinkers. What did I forget or what would you add to check? Eddie (03' KLR "la poderosa")

klr pre ride checklist

The most important thing to check is your brain--are you mentally ready to ride, or are you setting off in a distracted, somnolent, or over-excited state that could lead to a crash? Many of my close calls have been in the first few miles of a ride where I'm either too jacked up (rides I've been anticipating), or too sleepy (going to work) to ride well. Other than that, the list looks good. You might add 'check for signs of oil, brake fluid and coolant leakage.' --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "eddiebmauri" wrote:

selling k-9 fork brace

Post by Randy S » Thu Apr 17, 2008 6:05 pm

Hi guys. Just wanted to mention that I put a K-9 fork brace up for sale on ebay if anyone is interested. It's item number 280219039724. I assume it's still o'kay for individuals to post up things they're selling. I haven't been on the list for awhile so I'm afraid I'm not up on such things. Thanks. Randy
