<><><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><><> Jim, I am impressed with the Ortlieb Dry Saddlebags. I also have an Ortlieb duffel bag. The duffel bag has been retired for now as the zipper doesn't hold up well. I use a different brand waterproof duffel bag now. Steve also has the Ortlieb duffel and his zipper went out on the GDR. I bought one thinking it was from overloading. I must have overloaded mine too as it went bad soon after I first used the bag. The Dry Saddlebags are just great. They are easy to put on and take off. They don't flop around, at least the way I hook them up they don't. They are really waterproof if the top is closed correctly. The material is very tough and holds up well to use and abuse. You can load them jam packed full or just partially load them and they'll still work great. I use a Wolfman Explorer tankbag and it works pretty well for me. But it is kind of large and gets in the way when standing on the pegs going level or up hill. Downhill isn't bad. I have Wolfman tank panniers and they, like the other Wolfman gear I've got aren't waterproof. But I wouldn't get rid of them for anything. One holds my first aid kit and the other holds spare tubes and tire repair gear. I'm not very good at selling the Wolfman Alfa Rear Bag or the Alfa-Beta Duffel. I really don't think they work as good as some other gear that is available today. But for someone that is on a smaller budget and needs some luggage it's a good start.
