KLR Fans, http://www.motorcyclistonline.com/roadtests/122_0708_2008_kawasaki_klr650/in dex.html The article is well written and the "related photos" on the right are good too. Just click on one of them and then click "next" and scroll through them. Long live the KLR!!! Btw.. Does anyone have a new or nearly new Dunlop K750 90/90-21 tire laying around they could send me for cheap? My rear one was replaced just before I got the bike and the front one is now about worn out and they've quit making them so I'm kinda stuck. I'd buy a new D606 for the front but I worry about handling problems on the street with unmatched tires. $bob$ [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

<><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> Jim, Brian, It sounds to me like both carbs had carb jets partially clogged. If the bike was stored for a while, maybe 2-6 months and the carb wasn't drained it's probably fuel gunk. My suggestion would be first to try running some Seafoam through the fuel system. You both say you ran with the choke on. That is a different circuit than the idle, mid range (needle) or main jet. So by engaging the choke (enricher) you were adding fuel to the air/fuel mix. You can get Seafoam at most auto parts stores and also many farm supply shops or Walmart. Add 1 oz to each gallon. More won't do more good than the 1 oz to 1 gal ratio. It also won't hurt. If you want you could add the Seafoam and then run the bike for a few minutes to make sure you've got it in the carb bowl. Let it sit overnight or longer so start dissolving deposits of gunk. Then give the bike a ride and see if it improves. If it doesn't improve you may need to clean the jets and circuits. I would suggest you do not turn the idle mixture screw or otherwise mess with the carb trying to fix this issue. If your bike was running well and then this started acting up without you making adjustments making them now probably won't help.
