northern quebec, canada

I am now planning for this summers trip to Northern Quebec (KLR650).
Moncton, NB to Matane with ferry to Baie Comeau, to Chicoutimi,to
Chapais, to Rouyn Noranda, possible side trip to Baie James (+500 km),
down across the Ontario border to Ottawa, Montreal, Trois Riviere,
Quebec city, Mallais, St Simeon with ferry to Riviere du Loup,
Rimouski, Campbellton, Moncton.
Trip will be at least 3800 km and should take an estimated 8 days at
minimum 500 km/day (6 hours of riding). All roads appear to be paved
other than the trip to Baie James (unknown, probably gravel). I prefer
to use secondary roads but using the Trans Canada from Montreal to
Trois Riviere (autoroute 40)is a possibility.
Longest, no fuel, stretches appear to be from Dolbeau to Chapais - 282
km & Chapais to Senneterre - 305 km. This does not present a problem
to the fully loaded KLR. Other stretches are less than 150km between
fuel stops.
Ferry from Matane to Baie Comeau $40.00 (total) (fixed expense)
Ferry from St Simeon to Riviere du loup $40 (total) (fixed expense)
Fuel is estimated at 13 full tanks (18 liters X $1.35 X 13 = $316)
(fixed expense)
Camping is estimated at 8 * $28.5 = $228 (variable expense)
Food is estimated (high end) at 8 X $30 = $240 (variable expense)
Total estimated cost = $864 (if going to Baie James + $110 (variable
expence))
Cost does not included pre trip bike maintenance & new rubbers.
Ferry crossing at Matane is critical as most day crossing is at 1700
hours. Moncton to Matane can easily be done in 5 1/2 hours.
I will be camping most, if not, all the time, if in the wild will be
no cost. There are camping spots available in all areas as the region
prides itself on wilderness adventure.
Is anyone interested in making the trip?
Also my schedule is flexible other than the trip has to be done during
the first 2 weeks of July (alloted vacation time).
Last year I went from Moncton to Goose bay to Newfoundland back to
Moncton for a round trip of approx 4300 km. I like to do at least one
long trip a year.
