Amigos, I am considering having my KLR's seat recovered, and ask about the pros and cons of vinyl vs leather? Vinyl vs. leather: which is better and why? Eddie (03' KLR - "la poderosa")

Leather is better for comfort since it breathes. Leather will require some maintenance, usually a leather conditioner once a year or so. Vinyl is better in wet conditions since it doesn't absorb water like leather would. Vinyl will feel hotter in the summer. You can get many different coverings on the Corbin seat in vinyl or leather all with many different colors and welting options. http://www.corbin.com/materials/ Custom Corbin seats usually take 3 to 5 weeks to be put together, depending on how busy they are. I installed a sheepskin on my stock seat and it keeps down the sweats in the summer and the tail freeze in the winter. Only cost a few $$'s and low maintenance. albatross

Hmm, Every albatross I ever observed, (far to many) never needed sheepskin-- they all had a well oiled feather lining keeping them afloat, high and dry while they were resting on their laurals--when they rested.... revmaaatin. who also likes a sheepskin lined KLR
