Hey guys (and gals) I keep watching videos of people riding KLR's on YouTube and really wish I had a helmet camera or something else that I could use on my KLR. Does anyone have a helmet (or similar) video camera and how do you like yours? Here's one I found.... http://www.extremesupply.com/twenty20/twenty20helmetcam.html $bob$

In this era of HDTV, those cameras are obsolete, unless all you want to do is show compressed video on the web. I haven't kept up with helmet cam technology, but I'd see if something with higher resolution is available. If you can't find a "helmet cam" of high resolution, the next option might be to get a hand-held camera and fabricate a mount. Hand-helds are tiny these days, available in HD or at least 525 lines of resolution, huge or multi CCD chips, and the hassles of mini-DV tape are a thing of the past. Do NOT get a camera with optical image stabilization if you ever plan on mounting it to the bike. 2.When filming with a camera that has electronic stabilization, turn it off. 3. Shoot at full wide zoom. Mark [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]

Looking around I found the Sony HDR-HC7 and it looks pretty good. It records HD 1080i directly to memory stick. Bob, I have one and consider it a VERY good 'still' camera - I can't even imagine attaching it to my helmet for ANY reason...! Ed
