broken shroud peg - common?

I broke off the left side one. I got a clevis pin,two washers and a small cotter pin. Then drilled through where the "peg" used to be.Then I put one washer on the outside of the clevis pin and insert it through the drilled hole and through the little tab with the rubber grommet in back (where the peg was supposed to insert into). Then put the other washer in back of that and insert the cotter pin through the hole in the clevis pin and bend it slightly.Easy to remove and looks like it could be OEM.
When I break the other side, I'll do the same there.
