And that the KLR650 engine could benefit from a modern positive crankcase ventilation (admits fresh air) and cooling systems (bypass circuit) to improve cold weather performance. http://www.sae.org/technical/papers/2004-32-0001 ED> > Proof that frequent short trips = severe driving conditions that > relate to how often you should change the oil. > > Conall > 93,95 KLR > > Conall--- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Ingo" wrote: > > > > Hi guys > > > > I did as you all suggested and rode for about 2 hours today. nklr: gas tank coal grinder from aerostich
I know it's a ruse but has anyone worked through the math? 1.) To me
the KLR charging system (<~200w) couldn't run the 1hp electric grinding
motor (~800+w). 2.) The 20% hp loss puts the KLR at ~28 hp and what
good is that? 3.) Savings are ~1/3 of your current cost per mile,
which at $3 / gal, I figure my cost per mile is $0.0545. 1/3 of that
is $0.018 / mile savings. When taking into account the coal grinder's
cost of $10,000, it would require you to drive 555,555 miles to
breakeven (simple payback calc).
