Jeff, you're right - we just decided when and where. Info on www.leftcoastklrs.com Call me or email if you're going to have "special needs". Ian, Buddy, maybe Warren, and hopefully others will be there to point, advise, etc. Laughs, smiles, enthusiasm, all welcome! I do need to be ready to lock the doors at 5 p.m. - but, if there is enough need/demand, I can be back there on Sunday for a while. all the best, Mike Eagle Mfg & Eng since 1990 San Diego, Ca

Boy I wish I could go. I have to work. I still haven't put the lever in that I bought back on the last Julian tech day. Maybe I can rent the wrench and rotor puller from somebody.... Rick

So what do I do ? There just ain't no Right Coast KLR Society. Do I : a:) Buy the do and tools from Fred and "Do it myself" ? I've got a Clymer's. I can change the oil, but this is beyond my experience. b:) Buy the do from Eagle and ask my LKD to install it? I've heard this doesn't fly. c:)Buy the do from Eagle and get another (non-Kawi) mechanic to install it? @ $90+ /hr to start ! -- charlie '06KLR650 --------- warranty exp'd in October.

<><><><><><><><> <><><><><><><><> Charlie, My suggestion is you buy the doohickey and torsion spring and tools if you can't borrow them. Host a tech day and get someone who's been in there to show/help you do the work. It'll probably be 2 or 2 1/2 hours depending on how well you get set up. Last doohickey I changed out took me 60 minutes from the time I first touched the bike until it was ready to roll out the door. I didn't have any helpers so it went much quicker than teaching someone. Charlie, If you're in SoCal, come to the TechDay and we'll have you do it. For Free!!!!! If you can handle the wrenches for an oil change, doin' the "Doo" is relatively easy. If you can't make it on the 16th, call Mike or I. I have some free time in the next month or so, so you can come up to my office/shop, we can put your KLR on the lift and you can do the "doo" all by yourself. With very patient and experienced coaching. Buddy bseifert71@...

Well then where the heck are you? There are plenty of very experienced KLRista's that can help you out on the Right Coast. Z -> DC

Sorry, Charlie, It looks like I forgot to re-insert brain after washing hair........................... I guess the Right Coast is nowhere near the LeftCoast now, is it? And I won't be in the New York (L.I.) area until mid-October. If you purchase the Eagle lever and spring kit, the instructions are very easy to follow and with the Clymer at hand, the job is almost a breeze. If you get stuck, and you have the Eagle kit, Mike includes his phone number and is usually pretty cheerful about helping out over the phone. Hell, most of the "elders" on this list would do the same..........even CAStu. Buddy bseifert71@...

Where you at on the Right Coast? There's lots of us over here, we just don't have the lovely weather that San Diego has. I've got a garage and all the tools to do most anything to a KLR (except make it faster). da Vermonster (guess where I live) --- In DSN_KLR650@yahoogroups.com, "Charlie Yahrmarkt" wrote:

I am (ashamed to mention it here) located about 5 miles from Foxboro Stadium. I guess I'll be diving in on my own, as it were. I just gotta get a decent place cleaned out in my garage to do it, and a decent light put in. I guess I'll need a oz-in torque wrench , too. I probably won't try until the weather warm up a bit since the garage is unheated. I thought about riding her down the bulkhead steps into the basement, but I might never get out again. Anyone ever tried it? -- charliey
