electrics

Hi Jeff, I measured the voltage of the battery one week after charging it, and it was 12,65V. The next reading with the key turned dropped the voltage around 0.3V While cranking and starting, the voltage remained above 10 volts. But the final reading with the engine running stayed steady at 12,22 Volts. I did not run it long, because the tank started to leak again, but as far as I can see, there is little or no charging. Fuse ok. I haven t done any more testing, time was up for one day. So, it is still interesting. The resistance tests on the regulator rectifier seemed normal, with the small analogue x-1 resistance or continuity tester. The digital tester I don t know how to use it for ohm testing. Maybe there is a small manual somewhere. After the testing indicates all is well, the rectifier still could be blown, according to the manuals. Before I started, I removed the hoses from the pump, stuck the garden hose inside, and flushed the pump out, then I cranked the engine, rinsed again, no silicone floating around, so I blew the water out, with my mouth, and filled the radiator with coolant. I think the pump will work for a while, it can wait. The welded repaired tank leaked in a new weld, porous frying, so when I cleaned it out with the grinder, (after filling the tank with water, Boom!) I had another hole of 4 cm by 2 mm. I filled it with tank repair epoxy putty, hoping that at least it will hold gas for a while. When and if I order the new spring, I will have to order a plastic tank too, plus the pump seals and gaskets etc. Do you have a spare plane to drop all this stuff over here? I am looking at the wiring diagram, wondering what to do next, waiting for orders from the Airmarshall himself, from Greg, or others. Got to get this Thing running again some day. Help!! I'd heard you mention this bike before and wondered what became of it. Though I am KLRless at the moment I still have my own '82 R model. Stephen --- Andrus Chesley wrote:
